Our mission is to secure the CIMA zone market by ensuring that every piece of shared data is handled with the rigor required by insurance professional secrecy.

1. Nature of Data Collected

Kargoum collects only the data strictly necessary for underwriting and placement activities:

• Institutional Data: Licenses, underwriting capacities, retention limits.
• Risk-Market Data: Technical descriptions, expert reports, historical claims, placement conditions.
• Transaction Data: E-slips, cover notes, premium and commission flows.
• User Data: Professional identity of underwriters and managers.

2. Purpose of Processing: Data Sovereignty

Your data is processed for clear and transparent objectives:

• Retention Optimization: Identify available capacities in the CIMA market before any cession.
• Placement Security: Ensure integrity of exchanges between Cedants, Reinsurers, and Intermediaries.
• Regulatory Compliance: Generate proof of local market solicitation in accordance with Article 308 of the CIMA Code.

3. Protection of Professional Secrecy and Confidentiality

Kargoum contractually commits to:

• Data Sealing: No insurance company can access a competitor’s confidential data (pricing, retention strategy) without explicit agreement via co-insurance or reinsurance.
• No Commercial Use: Kargoum prohibits using placement data for its own accounts or reselling it to third parties not involved in the transaction.

4. High-Level Technical Security

To reassure IT departments and regulators, Kargoum deploys banking-grade standards:

• End-to-End Encryption (AES-256): All risk data and e-slips are encrypted during storage and transfer.
• Strong Authentication: Secure access via two-factor authentication (2FA) for all managers.
• Total Traceability (Audit Trail): Every action on the platform (file consultation, quota modification) is timestamped and archived immutably.

5. Hosting and OHADA/CIMA Compliance

• Geographic Sovereignty: Preference for servers compliant with local personal data protection laws.
• OHADA Compliance: Digital archiving of contractual documents in line with electronic evidence rules of the OHADA space.

6. User Rights

Each partner (Insurer/Reinsurer) retains full control over their data:

• Right of Rectification: Instant updates of capacities and licenses.
• Right of Withdrawal: Ability to remove a risk from the market once placement is closed.
• Right to Erasure: Deletion of data after expiration of legal obligations for claims file retention.
